Privacy Policy
We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what personal information RankProps collects from you, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have about it.
Definitions used in this policy
- "RankProps," "we," "our," or "us" refers to RankProps.com and the legal entity operating it, [Company Name / The Talente Group entity], [address].
- "Platform," "site," or "services" means RankProps.com and any related apps, tools, or features we offer, including our Risk/Reward Gauge, reviewer tiers, and giveaway programs.
- This policy does not cover our job applicants or staff, who are governed by a separate internal notice.
Links to outside websites
Our site links out to prop firms, brokers, platforms, and other third-party pages we review. Visiting those pages is subject to their privacy practices, not ours — we encourage you to read their policies before sharing anything with them.
RankProps is a public review community
RankProps exists so traders can share honest, non-sponsored feedback about prop firms and trading companies. Because of that, much of what you post is designed to be seen by the public:
- Your reviewer profile, username, and country are visible to anyone browsing the site.
- Every review you submit — including your rating, the company reviewed, and any screenshots or account statements you choose to attach — is publicly viewable.
- If you represent a company and reply to a review, that reply is also public.
What information we gather
We only collect what we need to run a trustworthy, free review platform. We ask that you never send us sensitive categories of information (health data, religious or ethnic background, and similar) about yourself or anyone else.
4a. Information visible to the public
- Profile details: username, avatar, country/region.
- Review details: the company reviewed, star rating, review text, date of the experience, edit history, and any supporting media (screenshots, trade statements, videos) you attach.
- Community activity: upvotes/"helpful" marks you receive or give on reviews.
- Connected accounts: if you link a social account, we pull basic profile fields (name, email, avatar) that the platform allows us to see. You can unlink this at any time; we'll drop the connection ID, though a previously-set profile photo may remain until you change it.
- Company profiles: if you manage a business listing, its name, domain, category (prop firm, broker, platform, or education provider), tier level, and any details you add to the listing are public, as are any replies your company posts to reviews.
4b. Information kept private
- Login credentials: your password (stored encrypted).
- Contact details: your name, email, and any other contact info you give us.
- Non-public review data: reference numbers or account IDs you supply so we can confirm a review is genuine, plus any verification documents you send us if we ask you to substantiate an experience.
- Technical data: IP address, browser/device type, approximate location, and interaction signals (like typing/click patterns) used mainly for fraud and bot prevention.
- Activity data: search queries, pages viewed, time on site, and how you engage with emails we send.
- Reviewer verification: if we run identity or trading-account checks (for example, before a gift-card giveaway payout), we may collect your name, ID document images and expiry data, and date of birth.
- Messages from businesses: if a listed company reaches out to ask about your experience, your reply (including name, email, phone, and reference details) is shared with that company.
- Preferences: your notification and marketing settings, and any consents you've given or withdrawn.
- Support communications: emails, tickets, and other messages you send us, plus related metadata.
- Call recordings: calls with our support or verification team may be recorded for quality and compliance purposes.
- Business account data: if you administer a company listing, we also hold your password, name, company role, flagged-review reports you file, and — for paid membership tiers — billing details such as bank or payment information.
Where this data comes from
Most of it comes straight from you — signing up, posting a review, replying to a review, filling out a giveaway entry, or messaging support. Some comes automatically from your browser or device (IP address, device type, usage patterns). Occasionally we receive information from third parties — for example, a company we review may submit your name and a reference number when inviting you to leave feedback, or a fraud-screening tool like a CAPTCHA service may flag activity to us.
Who decides how your data is used
For most information tied to your RankProps account — your profile, your reviews, your replies — RankProps is the party responsible for deciding how it's processed. If a listed company invites you to review them or messages you through our "Ask the Reviewer" tool, that company is independently responsible for the data it collects that way, and questions about it should go to them directly.
Why we use your information
We use personal data to:
- Run the platform — hosting your profile, publishing reviews, and giving you account access.
- Recognize you when you log back in.
- Answer support requests.
- Send service emails or notifications.
- Personalize what you see based on how you use the site.
- Run surveys to improve our tools and content.
- Detect fraud, fake reviews, and bot activity, and keep the platform secure.
- Analyze usage trends to improve the Risk/Reward Gauge, reviewer tiers, and other features.
- Understand how well our tools serve traders and companies so we can grow the platform responsibly.
- Train our team and monitor service quality.
- Meet legal obligations, respond to court orders, or defend legal claims.
- Support research partnerships with academic or industry groups, where applicable.
If you hold a reviewer account, we may also use your data to notify you when a company responds to your review, verify a review you submitted, follow up if we suspect a review breaks our guidelines, tell you how your review is performing, and enforce our reviewer terms.
If you manage a business listing, we use your data to alert you to new reviews, confirm your authority to reply on behalf of the company, verify your business details, tell you if a reply was reported, and enforce our business terms.
Our legal grounds for processing
Depending on where you're located, we rely on one or more of the following bases: pursuing our legitimate interest in running a fair, useful review platform; performing our contract with you (our Terms of Use); complying with legal obligations; and, where required, your consent — for instance, for marketing emails or optional cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting anything already processed.
Who can see your data
Public data is visible to anyone on the internet, including search engines and AI tools that crawl the web — this is inherent to how an open review platform works, and it's subject to our Terms of Use.
Private data is only accessed by RankProps team members who need it to do their jobs, plus, where relevant, the specific business you reviewed if they invited that review (they're independently responsible for that data).
Third-party distribution: because part of our mission is helping traders find honest reviews wherever they're searching, we may license public review content (usernames, review text, business replies) to partners such as search engines, comparison sites, and AI-powered tools, under agreements requiring them to handle it responsibly. See Section 12 for how to opt out.
Service providers: we work with vendors (hosting, analytics, email, fraud detection, payment processing for paid membership tiers) who process data strictly on our instructions under data protection agreements. Some may be located outside your home country; where required, we put safeguards in place for cross-border transfers.
Other required disclosures: we may also share data to comply with law or legal process, cooperate with regulators, enforce our Terms of Use or Reviewer Guidelines, protect our rights or safety (or those of others), investigate fraud or misuse, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of RankProps' assets.
How long we keep it
We keep data only as long as we have a legitimate reason to — typically for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements. When there's no remaining reason, we delete or anonymize it. Closing your account doesn't erase data we're legally required, or have a compelling reason, to retain (e.g., for fraud prevention or legal compliance).
Keeping your data secure
We apply technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards and review them regularly. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security of data you send us. Please avoid putting sensitive information in unencrypted emails to us.
Cookies and similar technology
We use cookies, pixels, and similar tracking tools to run the site, remember your preferences, measure performance, and (where applicable) support advertising. See our separate Cookie Policy for the full list of what we use and how to manage your preferences.
Your privacy rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data — much of this you can edit directly in your account settings.
- Delete your data or account, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Object to or restrict certain processing, including opting out of us licensing your public review data to third parties (contact us to opt out, or use in-platform controls where available).
- Withdraw consent at any time for anything we process on that basis, without affecting past processing.
- Opt out of AI/search crawling of your public content by deleting your account and reviews in your account settings.
- Complain to us directly, or to your local data protection authority if you're not satisfied with our response.
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. We may need to verify your identity first, and some requests may be limited — for example, if fulfilling them would expose another person's data, or where we're legally required to retain certain information.
Additional rights for U.S. residents
If you're a resident of a U.S. state with its own consumer privacy law (such as California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, and others), you have rights under those laws in addition to what's described above, including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information. We do not sell private personal data for money. Where we license public review content to partners as described in Section 9, applicable state law may treat that as "sharing," and you can opt out using the contact details below. We won't discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
Children
RankProps is intended for adults trading or evaluating trading services, and our platform is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy as our services, or the law, evolve. Updates will be posted here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll give you additional notice — for example, by email or an on-site banner. Continuing to use RankProps after an update takes effect means you accept the revised policy.
